Use your voice for LIFE!
High school juniors and seniors are invited to compete in New York State Right to Life's 32st Annual Oratory Contest. Students should prepare an original, 5-7 minute, pro-life speech on abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, or stem cell research.
Students first compete in local competitions hosted by NYSRTL affiliates. See below for a partial listing of local contests being held around the state. Students can contact NYSRTL (call 518-434-1293) for details on the local contest in your area. Most local contests take place February through April. Some local contests offer cash prizes. Local winners from across New York State will present the same speech at the statewide competition held in Albany, NY, on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
State finalists will compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to attend the National Teens for Life Convention, June 26-28, 2013, in Louisville, KY, and compete in the National Right to Life Jane B. Thompson Oratory Contest. The winner of the national competition will present his or her speech at the closing banquet of the convention.
Links and/or details about local contests being held by NYSRTL affiliates will be posted as it becomes available.
